General description of the collection: The Fort Lewis collection includes random papers, presumably collected by the Ft. Lewis historical officer, few of which directly pertain to the post's history. Outstanding in the collection are papers of Col. Henry Noyes (including a handwritten memoir by his wife); Brigadier General James L. Allen, and 2LT Henry H. Waller of the 49th Coast Artillery Regiment; and installation historical files.
